Slasher Bloodlines double feature at the State Theatre on Friday, October 2, 2026. Friday the 13th (1980, 95min) introduced Jason Voorhees and Camp Crystal Lake after an ad in Variety called it “the most terrifying movie ever made.” A Bay of Blood (1971, 85min, Italian with English subtitles) marks its 55th anniversary with a new 4K restoration by Severin Films; directed by Mario Bava, it is recognized as the first fully formed slasher and influenced kills in Friday the 13th Part 2.
