Austin’s Ballet Afrique returns with its eighth annual production of "The Nutcracker Suite," transporting audiences to 1940s Harlem through Duke Ellington’s jazz interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s score. The performance blends ballet, contemporary, and African dance to tell the story of Clarinette’s magical journey aboard the A Train. This theatrical experience highlights cultural memory and community, featuring a cast of notable Austin artists including Bavu Blakes, Queen Deelah, and Nook Turner.
