Born in the DC area and raised in West Virginia, Miller draws from punk, rock, and traditional fiddle music. For The Great Unknowing he traveled to Tulsa to record live with new collaborators including John Fullbright on keyboards, capturing a fuzzy, spacious sound across songs like “Far from the Station” and “Cornbread and Pinto Beans.” The sessions also yielded covers of tracks by Darrin Hacquard, William Matheny, the Georgia Satellites, and Dire Straits.
