Villanelle are a UK-based grunge-leaning rock band formed in summer 2023 by Gene Gallagher (vocals/guitar), Ben Taylor (guitar), and Jack Schiavo (bass). The trio blends raw authenticity with swaggering, hook-driven rock and roll, drawing influence from Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr, and The Who. Their sound balances lo-fi grit with arena-ready intensity; debut single Hinge and follow-ups Measly Means and Placebo led to the EP Measly Means, due May 6, 2026.
